The Art Of Claudio Parentela

This artist is very unique and special. I particularly like the third picture on this page. It reminds me of what I feel like when I first get up in the morning. It's like a surreal image of middle age or that horrific time that falls between tragedy and grief; when you feel like you could just die. 

The first two pictures are very wild, the first reminding me of a whacked out cannibal on an un-charted island, the second looking like the kind of poster you'd see on the wall behind one of those hippie characters in the movie "Billy Jack." The last one is almost really three pictures in one. The top part looks like space aliens taking over Zulu warriors, the middle part is hard to describe, but I see a cow in it and two giant eyes above. The bottom part of it makes me think of the three stooges for some reason. 

But there are so many things that you can see in all of these art pieces which is what makes the artist so unique and special. I'm proud to have this art on my web page.

I've illustrated poems of: Mark Sonnenfeld, Gary Sneyd, Shannon Colebank, Lisa Massei, Victorian Baccelli, Michael Kriesel, Gavin Burrows, Cristiano Quadalti. The last year I was guest of the BREAK 21 Festival in Ljubljana-Slovenia.

I've published for various publishers some my booklets of illustrations and of comics: ''The Halved Nightmare'', ''The Slavering Rat'' (BGA Comix-Innovation Studio-Italy),  ''Black Kisses and other Stories'', ''The Book of Secrets' '(La Cafe tiere Editions-Belgium) ''Story'', ''Il Bombarolo' '(Progetto Siderurgiko-Italy) ''Jeanne Dark you got Balls'', ''The Frogs Ballet'' (self-produced).

I love too Mail Art and I participate to all the mail art projects that I know. I collaborate too with many punk, industrial, metal bands.
